Forte dei Marmi is one of the towns of the Versilia area located on the Tyrrhenian coast, and is famous for its luxury shopping throughout the year. Its historical Villa Bertelli hosts an important theatre and music season.
Some of its typical restaurants are Bistrot, Osteria del Mare, Tre Stelle Lorenzo, and, last but not least, a few metres from the boundary with Montignoso, along the beach, the new Alpe Mare, belonging to the great maestro Andrea Bocelli. Bike lanes crisscross the town, making it perfect for bicycles both downtown and along the beach. There are several bike rental agencies available, such as historical “Cicli Maggi”, which offers city bikes, mountain bikes, racing bikes, and even bikes with pedal assistance.
Two other agencies are “Cicli Santini” and “Cicli Coppa”. It is also possible to rent bikes for children. The price varies according to brand and model. From Pontile di Forte dei Marmi, where one can admire the landscape of the Apuan Alps, leave daily ferries that reach Cinque Terre in only one hour.
